Over the weekend I picked up an older, well-loved Hohner to add to my growing collection. I did some poking around the internet and it looks like the dad or granddad of the HA1040. The only real differences are the bellows, which are a little bulkier than the HA1040, the treble keys which show the wooden pressy-mechanism part and have mother of pearl keys, and the grill cover which is made of wood instead of metal. It's also way more worn than the pictures I've seen of the 1040 but it did indeed used to be gold like the newer one.

I'm a bit of a baby when it comes to accordions so I don't really know much about it other than the general specs you get by looking at it and taking it apart. It's terribly dusty but in great condition considering it's probably 40+ years old (or so I am guessing). I'd love to restore it or just do some minor fixes to get it in better condition but I really want to know more about it before I do that.

I was hoping I could get some help IDing the thing. I've attached a picture, I hope that's helpful!]]>
